Cost: $7 cash donation (no one will be turned away for lack of funds)
This has a few benefits:
1. A more intimate venue with an opportunity to engage better with the music, with the artists and with each other
2. All proceeds go to the performers and the venue, which is a locally owned independent bookstore (how wholesome is that?)
3. We'll be able to live stream the event for everyone who lives out of town or otherwise can't make it!
If you've already bought tickets, you have three options:
1. Cancel and get a refund on your tickets -- no questions asked, no shame, no hard feelings.
2. Cancel your tickets and come to the show anyway -- you can donate cash at the door.
3. Keep your tickets, come to the show and get free merch (it's a surprise, but I think you'll like it!) -- I'll have a list of names at the door.
If you haven't bought tickets yet, just bring $7 cash to donate if you can!
If you want to watch online, here's a link to the Concert Window: https://www.concertwindow.com/179113-court-hoang (tips accepted and benefit the performers).
I don’t have to tell you how difficult it is to be an independent artist in an environment that is dismissive of and consistently undervalues the work that we do. I'm disappointed at this turn of events, but I believe we can turn this into a win for these local artists and for you, our community.
I know we're taking a risk, trying to work outside of a monolithic and very broken system (and trying to organize a great show in just over a week). But I'm also hoping and trusting that you will come out or watch online to support me and these other amazing performers who are targeted and exploited by shady businesses all too often.
